This is a fantastic pan! The cake could not be more adorable. Just make sure that you get your oil and flour into all the cracks and crevices. I use the all in one flour and shortening. It works great and the cake just slides out beautifully. I've started a collection of these pans because they are easy to make and you can decorate for male or female. Every time I use them they get the "wow" factor from the party goers. Thanks for a great product that works.

For those of us without unlimited time to bake, particularly during the holidays, this pan offers a solution for creating a charming highly detailed gingerbread house. You can bake these cakes for gifts or parties with ease. Because the pan is so highly detailed, the cake needs little else but a sprinkle of powdered sugar and you're done. Just a couple of tips: be sure to liberally spray the pan with Baker's Joy (cooking spray that includes flour.) Turn the pan upside down to drain over paper towels while making the batter.
For the most detailed result use a thick cake batter -- numerous free bundt cake recipes may be found on the various search engines -- some that adapt cake mixes and some cakes from scratch -- the best batter is different from the normally prepared cake mix (usually more eggs and less liquid). Finally, be sure to let the cake cool upright in the pan for 15 minutes before attempting to unmold.
To ensure all details at the bottom edge are evident, fill the pan perhaps a little higher than the normal two thirds full rule and put the pan on a baking sheet to catch any over-flow and avoid messing up the oven. In this case it is better to over-fill and pick up all the details of the pan than under-fill and have it look like half a gingerbread house. If after baking the bottom isn't level so it won't sit flat on a platter, before unmolding but after cooling, take a bread knife and cut straight across the bottom close to the pan to even it out.
The pan should last a lifetime if metal utensils and harsh scouring pads are avoided.
